Are you chasing the wrong horse?

If one of your goals for 2025 was “big revenue growth” and you’re frustrated because it hasn’t happened yet, then this email is for you.

I’ll be honest - there are many (many) people in my world who come to me saying: “I want my business to grow.  I want to increase revenue by 50% this year.”

I get it - I really do.

You’ve been in your business for 5, 10, or 15 years and you’re frustrated that your top-line revenue growth feels almost non-existent at about 2%, 5% or even 10% per year.

This feels especially hard when you see [insert new competitor’s name here] opening a second location.. you wonder, what am I doing wrong??

Now, I can’t / won’t speak to your competition, but what I will say to you (with love) is that if revenue growth is stagnant, it's likely because you’re chasing the wrong thing right now:

  • You’re trying to get Big New Client A in the door, but you don’t realize that you’ve added 2 technical team members in the last quarter who haven’t created any meaningful increase in revenue.  Now, your revenue per employee is down to $80k when it should be $145k…

  • You are looking at a new, fancier office space - never mind that your rent expense is already 8% higher than industry benchmarks for similar businesses.

  • You don’t really know how your team spends their time.  You have a basic time tracking system, but you couldn’t really say if someone was working on client stuff 50% of the time or 90% of the time.

  • You’ve been spending thousands of dollars on a social media manager each month, but most of your clients are referrals and they aren’t even on IG or FB except to look at pictures of their friends’ vacays

Here’s the real issue: you’re chasing revenue, not profit.

And that’s where most founders get stuck.

>>>>>You’re trying to grow your top line revenue, but without the right stuff behind the scenes to support this additional revenue - your bottom line (profit) never grows. <<<<<

Said another way, if you haven’t built the backend systems, structure and expense management practices to support revenue growth, then more revenue won’t actually change how much you can pay yourself every month.

I’ve seen it.

When the big client finally says yes - the one you’ve been chasing for months - you still feel stuck. You’re booked solid, your team is slammed, and yet… you’re still only pulling $8k/month out of your business.

I’ll say it again: it doesn’t matter how great your top-line revenue looks if your expenses are eating it alive.

A big client won’t fix a business model that’s leaking money from inefficient systems, unclear roles, or bloated overhead.

And that’s the real risk: scaling a business that isn’t actually built to be profitable at scale.

That’s where I come in - to help you fix that, before the next wave of growth just makes it worse.

Friend - if you’re reading this and thinking “wait… I think I might have been chasing the wrong horse all this time….” - I see you.

  • Maybe your goal was revenue growth, but you’ve added three team members and still can’t pay yourself consistently.

  • Maybe your revenue is up, but your profit margin has actually dropped.

  • Maybe you’ve got a shiny new social media strategy, but cash flow feels tighter than ever.

This is exactly the kind of stuff we tackle inside The Monthly Reset.

It’s a 1:1 strategy session where we cut through the confusion of running a business and get laser-focused on what’s actually going on in your business so you can build a business that prioritizes profit, not just revenue.

Each month, you’ll sit down with me (a CPA) and Elanne (a former VP of Operations) to work through things like:

  • Why your profit margin isn’t increasing even though your top line is growing (meaning more $$ is coming in, but the same amount - or less - is going in your pocket)

  • Which team roles are overlapping or underperforming (and how to restructure, not just “motivate”) so you get the right ROI on your biggest expense

  • Whether you’re spending too much on rent, wages, or marketing compared to industry benchmarks

You’ll leave with:

  • A clear plan for fixing your biggest challenges this month

  • Written action steps

  • Accountability from people who actually understand your numbers and are deeply committed to helping you achieve your goals

Investment: $600/month (3-month commitment).

Only 2 spots available at this price - then it goes up to $750/month.

If you’re ready to start growing profitably - send me an email and I’ll send over next steps.
