Why “Busy” Isn’t a Business Strategy

I’ve always been really proud of and inspired by the people I have around me.

I probably shouldn’t say “I have fancy friends” but I have fancy friends lol…

And the one thing that most of them have in common:  they have way more money than free time.  Aka:

-They are the “go to” every time an employee wants to talk about going from working 5 days a week to 4.

-They are the person who looks at every single project / file / client deliverable before it goes out the door to make sure things are up to snuff.

-They are also the person responsible for bringing work in the door.  They “eat what they kill” and they need to make sure they kill regularly so there’s enough work to go around for everyone.

In short, things are busy for them.  This is on top of being the breadwinner, carrying the “mental load” for everyone at home, and trying to be a good partner / friend / etc / etc / etc…

It’s a lot.

So when it comes to tackling big, huge changes in their business like opening a second location to increase revenue, restructuring and refining their team so everyone is firing on all cylinders (=max ROI on payroll), or taking a hard look at expense ratios to put more $$ in their pocket each month (=increase profitability)...

Yeah…. That stuff kinda sits in the “maybe sometime in the magical far off future” pile.

Why?  Well, these people are the definition of doing stuff that’s urgent versus important.  Let’s look at a familiar friend - the Eisenhauer Matrix:

Most business owners live in quadrants 1, 3, and 4 (just a bit), but in order to actually move the needle on big business initiatives, significant time and energy needs to be spent on quadrant 2-type work.

And that’s just not going to happen with the state of most entrepreneurs' current to-do list.  LUCKILY YOU KNOW ME ;)

The work that I do

My job is to help you get out of the weeds and finally fix the things that keep your business from running smoothly:

That means:

  • Turning chaos into systems that actually get used.

    • Most businesses already have “systems” - they’re just living in someone’s head or buried in a 47-step Google Doc no one reads.

    • We come in, map how work actually moves through your business, and rebuild your processes so they’re efficient, documented, and simple to follow.

    • RESULT: You’ll finally be able to take that 2 week vacay to Sicily, delegate without everything falling apart, and your office will stop depending on that one person who “just knows how it’s done.”

  • Right-sizing your team so the right people are in the right roles.

    • We help you identify who’s stretched too thin, who’s underutilized, and where key skills are missing.

    • That might mean redefining roles, restructuring your org chart, or making hard but necessary calls about fit.

    • We’ll calculate revenue per employee, benchmark compensation, and design a structure that makes sense financially and operationally.

    • RESULT: you get max ROI on your team and max out everyone’s potential.

  • Mapping growth that’s strategic, not reactive.

    • You don’t need to copy your competitors’ playbook.

    • We’ll help you clarify what expansion actually looks like for your business—whether that’s adding a second location, bringing in an equity partner, or hiring that associate you’ve been avoiding because “no one could possibly do it like you.”

    • RESULT: A custom growth plan that’s intentional, prioritizes profit, and actually moves you towards achieving your biggest goals.

Think of me as the person who walks into the middle of your messy, overgrown business garden and says, “Okay, here’s what we’re keeping, here’s what’s getting pruned, and here’s what’s going to bloom next season.”

Here’s how it works

We keep things simple - and respectful of your time.

  1. Intro Call (15–30 min) – You tell me where things feel stuck or what big dreams you want to achieve in your business. I’ll ask a few questions and let you know if consulting is the right fit or if there’s another way to solve your problem.

  2. Proposal & Discussion – You’ll get a plain-English proposal with a detailed work plan, pricing and deliverables custom designed to move the needle on what you want to do in your business. We’ll talk it through any questions you have so it fits your goals and your budget..

  3. Contract & Kickoff – Once we’re a “go”, we hold a single kickoff meeting to finalize your work plan. From there, my team and I do the heavy lifting.

  4. Implementation (Done-for-You) – We build the tools, test the systems, and support your team through small, real-time changes that stick.

  5. Wrap-Up & Support – You’ll get easy-to-action deliverables, not just a report. If you’d like us to stay involved for accountability or ongoing monitoring, we can extend support.

Throughout the process, you’ll get weekly email updates so you always know what’s complete, what’s in motion, and what’s next. No endless meetings. No mysteries. Just progress.

Ready to move from urgent to important?

If you’re done living in quadrant one and want a business that runs smoothly, profitably, and let's you step away for a European getaway - we should talk.

Book a call and let’s see what’s really going on under the hood.
